I was going to do a Sinnoh Region review but I think i'll do that later tonight. For now I want to talk about Pokemon Hacks.
Pokemon Hacks are very important for me because they are actually part of the reason I got into Lets Playing. I remember seeing people playing Pokemon games that were not official releases and I was really confused and my friend actually explained to me what they were.
So after discovering Pokemon Hacks I started playing them and I believe the first one I was really into was Liquid Crystal which at the time I was watching SpiritofSteel (No longer exists on Youtube) lets play the game which was the first Lets Play I fully watched. I believe the first hack I had played was Light Platinum (the very early version with 4 badges) and I remember it being very buggy. You gained experience to easily and shiny Pokemon were very common. So after figuring out these bugs I left the game and moved onto various others and I would never complete any, just play them till I got bored.
Finally very early in my Youtube career I discovered KoolBoyMan who is the creator of Pokemon Brown, Rijon Adventures, and currently developing Pokemon Prism. I liked the idea of Pokemon Brown being a first gen game and not too common and so I began lets playing the game. It was a really fun journey for me and even though the videos were crappy quality, I enjoy going back and watching them because I had a really enjoyable time. It was awesome to explore a land I didn't know about for the first time blind, figure things out for myself, and even help others. There was a good variety of Pokemon mostly being Kanto/Johto but I believe there were a very select few from other regions that were very rare.
There are other famous hacks like Ruby Destiny (I think there is three?), Shiny Gold X, Flora Sky and even Hacks of games like Black and White that become Blaze Black and Volt White which increases the difficulty of the game and adds much more wild Pokemon.
There is so many out there and after I nuzlocke the current games I plan on jumping onto the Hacks and doing nuzlockes of those on my channel someday!
I thank all of the creators of the hacks, they are providing so much more for the Pokemon community than what is already given. It allows some to use their creative minds to birth their own regions and some create their own Pokemon named 'Fakemon' and implement them into the game like in Pokemon Snakewood.
Many of these hacks I haven't even played or watched people play them. If you are a fan of Pokemon, how many hacks have you played? Which one is your favorite? If you were to create a hack, what would you call it and what would the plot be?
Thank you whoever read this! I'm trying to be as active on this blog as possible!
