Hello my Hatchlings, sorry for my absence. Hey that rhymes with Adsense...that'll be another post.
Anyways I thought I would update everybody on the current status of the planned Pixelmon series with my cousin BlackJesus Priest. So today we decided we would record it and our plan was to be on the same internet connection and open the server up to LAN. A few months ago I found out about the LAN option and played Minecraft with one of my buddies for the first time. It was simple and easy and it wasn't even lagging!
That originally is what made me believe that a co-op Pixelmon series would be possible..until we hit a wall. When I opened up the world to LAN my cousin couldn't join. He said it popped up and it gave him a connection failed. We tried again but the LAN server never popped up again for him. We tried many things such as taking turns opening the world, hamachi, different server addresses, and even switching to plain vanilla minecraft. Finally we decided to give up for today after about 2 hours of this and vented our frustration in Super Smash Bros Brawl and Borderlands 2.
Speaking of Super Smash Bros Brawl my cousin uploaded a video of us duking it out to see who would be in charge of the server: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3Pkmk0Y1f4
What is the problem? I'm unsure...it isn't Pixelmon. Because we tried vanilla. Either something with one or both of our computers, the internet, or something with Minecraft. I've done LAN before and seen videos of it working...not sure why it isn't working now though. We will do some more tinkering tomorrow but so far the survival/birth of the series is not looking good.
If anybody has any tips or information that could help then that would be wonderful! Thanks guys. Talk to you next time.
Oh and sorry for the absense, i've been on break. I'll make posts soon about: adsense, my computer, and probably a Christmas post.
